In its quest to build the capacity of institutions, the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) have supported the Civil Service Training Centre (CSTC), that, he institution has received tremendous exposure.
JICA through collaboration has supported CSTC in so many ways including the Project for Capacity Development of Government Administration, the Project for International Capacity Development of Civil Service Training Centre, the Project for Strengthening the Civil Service Training Foundation of the Civil Service Training Centre (CSTC).
JICA is currently supporting CSTC on Project for Strengthening the Human Resource Capacity of the Civil Service. JICA however, believes that it is essential to improve the quality of education and training in a country to increase potential for further growth hence, the support to CSTC.
At the JICA and CSTC media briefing, the Principal of the Civil Service Training Centre (CSTC), Mrs. Dora Dei-Tumi revealed that their relationship with JICA started about 15 years ago after JICA listened to their story and offered them infrastructure and technical support.
She pointed out that, through the support of JICA, her outfit has gained tremendous exposure to many countries to develop their capacity.
The Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Ms. Momoko Suzuki on her part commended the Civil Service Training Centre (CSTC) for the efforts made to train staff in the civil and public service likewise, providing external support for neighboring countries.
She, however, expressed confidence in the Civil Service Training Centre towards becoming the Centre of Excellence in human resource capacity development in the West Africa sub-region.
Ms. Momoko Suzuki assured of JICA’s continued commitment to was to collaborate with CSTC, to extend support to the Centre through the provision of physical infrastructure and logistics.
Mr. Masashi Yamanaka, a JICA Expert explained that the well-designed e-learning system through the support of JICA, would allow trainees to assess online courses on their phones and computers.

Support, human resource development, and infrastructure development. It is to contribute to sustainable development and the promotion of international cooperation.
JICA focuses on people and capacity development and believes that it is the most powerful and fundamental approach for long-term sustainability.
JICA in the last decade and a half, has been collaborating with the Office of Head of Civil Service (OHCS) and the Civil Service Training Centre (CSTC) to build the capacity of the Civil Service and to elevate the training center into a Centre of Excellent in the sub-region.
The Civil Service Training Centre (CSTC) on the other hand under the auspices of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service (OHCS), was established in 1953 to provide training for lower and middle level personnel in the Civil and Public Services.
CSTC provides training to approximately 5,000 Civil Servants every year and the training received very positive feedback for its practicality and interactivity.
