The Tragic Passing Of Aderounmu Adejumoke, A 37 Year Old TV Gem

Adejumoke Oreoluwa Aderounmu was a popular Nigerian actress who starred in the TV series Jenifa’s Diary, playing the character of “Esther.”

The 37-year-old’s death was made public on Monday, April 8, 2024, having given up the ghost in the morning of Saturday, April 6.

The late actress was born on March 26, 1984, to a Christian family in Ogun State, Nigeria.

She attended Saint Banerdettes private schools Ibara Abeokuta, Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School, Onikolobo, Abeokuta. She had her university education at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arts before proceeding to La Cinefabrique multimedia Cine in Lyon, France, where she also excelled.

Her breakthrough appearance in a movie was in Tunde Kelani’s “Dazzling Mirage” in 2014 where she acted the character “Yejide.”

During her life, she was nominated for Best Actress at The African International Film Festival, Dallas Texas (2016), Revelation of the Year, BON awards, Nigeria (2015), won the MayaAfrica Awards 4.0 Face Of Nollywood (2016), and the Scream Awards New Face Of Nollywood (2017).

She was a well-articulated and dedicated actress who went about her roles diligently and professionally.

The cause of her death has yet to be revealed going by information gathered as at the time of the revelation.
