Independent candidate in today’s Ejisu parliamentary by-election, Mr Kwabena Owusu Aduomi has been tipped to win massively to the chagrin of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Information picked from Ejisu has lifted Kwabena Owusu Aduomi far above the other candidates in the race because of the massive support he has garnered from the people.

From the grounds, majority of voters are willing and have already declared their support for him as testament of his assured victory.

The Ejisu Constituency which is one of the 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region has long remained an NPP safe seat since 2012. However, checks conducted in the constituency indicates that about 72% of the voters are in favour Mr Aduomi in the election while only 20 per cent are likely to vote for Mr Boateng.

The Ejisu seat became vacant following the death of the NPP MP of the area, John Kumah, on March 7, this year.

The race to replace him in Parliament has since been heated with six candidates vying for it, three of them being independent candidates. The NDC did not file a candidate for the by-election.

Already ahead of the by-election, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, has become a threat to the NPP’s chances hence have suffered several verbal attacks amid name callings among others.

Meanwhile, he has denied allegations that he has switched allegiance to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but that he is widely loved by members of the NDC due to his work during his tenure as a Member of Parliament.

“I am not an NDC member. The NDC people like me because of the work I did that benefited them. Where have they seen me wearing NDC colours? The NDC people want to vote for me because I am going independent and because of the work that I did for the constituency.”
Mr. Aduomi said.

According to his followers, the NPP is very aware that Mr. Aduomi will win the by-election hence the many ill-intended agenda against him.

“The NPP will not succeed. Mr. Aduomi is winning hands down, I can promise you that,” supporters said.
