Cape Town, South Africa — Ghanaian bead entrepreneur and creative brand leader, Monica Osei, popularly known as *Original Mamamaama*, has successfully concluded the South Africa leg of the Original Mamamaama Beads Global Tour, further expanding the brand’s growing international presence.
The week-long tour, held in partnership with Excellent Curator from May 6 to 12, 2026, saw Mrs. Osei engage with clients, partners, and supporters across Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.
The South African engagement follows the launch of the brand’s global tour in Dubai in 2025, which marked the beginning of Original Mamamaama’s international expansion drive.
Speaking on the purpose of the tour, Mrs. Osei said the initiative was centered on strengthening relationships with clients while promoting faith, culture, and entrepreneurship through African artistry.
“I want to ensure my clients remain connected to the core values upon which this bead business was founded so they can also excel. It is about aligning faith with business and appreciating culture and the arts,” she said.
According to her, faith remains central to the brand’s identity and influences both the creative process and the values behind the products.
“Whatever we have received is from God, and that should reflect in how we create and conduct business. Our products are meant to bring impact, peace, joy, and even healing into people’s lives,” she added.
Mrs. Osei explained that many of the bead collections carry names inspired through prayer and spiritual reflection, with each design symbolising positive affirmations and personal aspirations.
She cited examples such as *“Aware Pa,”* meaning *good marriage*, noting that several customers have connected deeply with the symbolic meanings attached to the products.
“For us, this business is more than commerce. It is a blessing, and everyone who purchases from us becomes part of that blessing,” she stated.
Original Mamamaama Beads has gained recognition for its handcrafted Ghanaian beads, including traditional waist beads designed with culturally inspired patterns and faith-based symbolism. The brand has built a growing reputation for blending Ghanaian heritage with contemporary creativity, attracting customers across Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
Beyond client engagements and business meetings, the South Africa tour also featured visits to prominent cultural and creative destinations, including Nelson Mandela Square and several arts and craft markets showcasing African artistry and design.
“I also wanted to familiarise myself with my clients and know them better because now we are a family,” Mrs. Osei said.
The successful South Africa tour reinforces Original Mamamaama’s commitment to promoting Ghanaian craftsmanship globally while building community, inspiring entrepreneurship, and celebrating African culture through creative enterprise.
