Digital Foundation Africa Confirms Sole Ownership and Stewardship of the Africa Digital Festival

ACCRA, Ghana— Digital Foundation Africa (DFA) has reaffirmed its exclusive ownership, leadership, and stewardship of the Africa Digital Festival (ADF), announcing that the 2026 edition of the Festival will be organized solely under the authority of the Foundation.

The clarification is intended to provide certainty to sponsors, partners, host institutions, media organizations, stakeholders, and the general public regarding the governance, ownership, and management of the Africa Digital Festival and all associated brands operating under its umbrella.

Africa Digital Festival Remains a Digital Foundation Africa Initiative

Digital Foundation Africa confirms that the Africa Digital Festival, including its name, identity, trademarks, intellectual property, brand assets, and associated goodwill, remains the exclusive property of the Foundation.

As the founder and institutional custodian of the Festival, DFA retains sole rights and authority over all current and future editions of the Africa Digital Festival and its affiliated platforms.

These include, but are not limited to:

ADF Convo

Africa Digital Awards

ADF Summits

Africa 50 Digital Champions

ADF Expo

GLITCH

as well as any other existing or future properties developed under the Africa Digital Festival ecosystem.

All rights, brand equity, intellectual property, and goodwill associated with these platforms are vested exclusively in Digital Foundation Africa.

Conclusion of Previous Collaboration

Digital Foundation Africa further announces that any previous collaborative arrangement involving Media General and MG Digital Media Limited in relation to the Africa Digital Festival has formally concluded.

Consequently, Media General and MG Digital Media Limited are no longer affiliated with the Africa Digital Festival in any capacity and have confirmed that they will not use the Africa Digital Festival name going forward.

 

Accordingly, Media General and MG Digital Media Limited possess no authority—whether express or implied—to represent the Africa Digital Festival, use its name or branding, solicit sponsorships, negotiate partnerships, or enter into any commercial, media, or institutional arrangements on behalf of the Festival, its associated brands, or Digital Foundation Africa.

 

Advisory to Sponsors, Partners and Stakeholders

Digital Foundation Africa advises all sponsors, partners, government agencies, development organizations, media institutions, and members of the public to engage directly and exclusively with DFA on all matters relating to the Africa Digital Festival 2026 and its associated platforms.

Any communication, proposal, invoice, sponsorship request, partnership engagement, or representation concerning the Africa Digital Festival that does not originate directly from Digital Foundation Africa should be treated with caution and independently verified.

Stakeholders are strongly encouraged to contact DFA directly regarding any enquiries, partnership opportunities, sponsorship discussions, or requests relating to the Festival.
