Amman, Jordan, July 2, 2026 – Vivo Energy has completed its acquisition of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan, marking the company’s first expansion beyond Africa and introducing its Engen retail fuel brand to the Jordanian market.

The transaction, which gives Vivo Energy full ownership of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan, includes a network of about 180 service stations as well as the company’s commercial fuels and lubricants business.

The acquisition expands Vivo Energy’s footprint to 29 markets, where it now operates approximately 4,200 service stations across Africa and the Middle East.

As part of the transition, the Engen brand—Vivo Energy’s wholly owned retail brand—will replace the TotalEnergies brand at service stations across Jordan over the coming months.

Engen currently operates in 13 of Vivo Energy’s markets and is South Africa’s leading fuel brand, with more than 1,000 service stations selling one in every four litres of fuel in the country.

The completion of the acquisition follows the announcement of the transaction in November 2025 and comes after the parties secured all required regulatory approvals and satisfied the necessary conditions for the deal.

Vivo Energy Group Chief Executive Officer, Stan Mittelman, described the acquisition as a significant milestone in the company’s growth strategy.

“This is an important milestone for Vivo Energy as we expand beyond Africa into Jordan—a market with strong fundamentals and a team we have great respect for,” he said.

He noted that Vivo Energy’s customer-focused business model and the Engen brand’s reputation for quality and community engagement would support the company’s long-term growth ambitions in Jordan.

“Vivo Energy, and our retail brand Engen, are built on African values of customer service and community, which we believe have a real story to tell in Jordan. We look forward to supporting continued growth in the market,” Mittelman added.

The company has appointed Adel Saadallah as Managing Director of Vivo Energy Jordan to oversee the business following the acquisition.

Saadallah, who has been with Vivo Energy since its establishment, said he was honoured to lead the company’s entry into the Jordanian market.

“I have been part of Vivo Energy since the company was founded and have seen first-hand how our model creates businesses that last,” he said.

He assured employees, dealers and customers that the transition would not disrupt existing operations, stressing that employment arrangements, dealer agreements and customer relationships would remain unchanged.

“My priority will be to work alongside the existing team, build on what is working well and make the transition as smooth as possible for everyone,” he said.

Saadallah added that Vivo Energy intends to align its operations with Jordan’s national aspirations, noting that 2026 marks the country’s 80th Independence Day anniversary and its national football team’s first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup.

“We will work to reflect this pride in our programmes, putting Jordan and Jordanians first,” he said.

The acquisition strengthens Vivo Energy’s position as one of the leading energy distribution companies operating across Africa and signals the beginning of its expansion into new international markets beyond the continent.
