Accra, Sept. 21, 2026 —Joshua Nii Armah Solomon has formally declared his intention to contest the position of Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Okaikwei North Constituency, outlining an agenda centred on organisation, communication, coordination and service.
In a statement dated September 21, 2026, Mr Solomon said his decision followed years of working within the party’s structures and engaging with members across the constituency.
He said those experiences had enabled him to listen to members, understand challenges within the constituency and identify opportunities for strengthening the party’s organisation.
“I write with humility, commitment and a deep sense of responsibility to formally declare my intention to contest for the position of Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Okaikwei North Constituency,” he said.
Mr Solomon said the position of Constituency Secretary should go beyond holding an office and should serve as a central point for organisation, communication, coordination and service.
If given the opportunity to serve, he said his priorities would include improving the coordination of constituency activities and programmes, strengthening communication among members, executives and party structures, and ensuring regular engagement with branches and wards.
He also pledged to pay greater attention to opportunities that could benefit party members and establish an accessible and responsive secretariat that works with all sections of the constituency.
Focus on organisation and member engagement
Mr Solomon said his approach would be based on listening to members, working collaboratively and creating room for ideas that could contribute to the development of the party and constituency.
“My intention is not simply to occupy a position, but to serve, work and listen,” he said, while appealing to members for their prayers, guidance, encouragement and support.
He said his broader objective was to help build a constituency secretariat that was organised, accessible, responsive and ready to serve.
His declaration comes as part of preparations around internal party organisation and leadership at the constituency level. A publicly available profile identifies Mr Solomon as a Ghanaian professional with experience in facilities management and public-sector work.
Mr Solomon concluded his declaration with a commitment to service, work and engagement with members.
