Hearts of Oak striker, Kofi Kordzi has set sight on winning the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League goal king award.
The 27-year-old is the club’s top scorer with seven goals from 15 matches, four short of leader, Franck Etouga of Asante Kotoko after the first round of games.
The bulky striker has not enjoyed starting roles in the latter part of the first round, mostly coming on as a substitute under coach Samuel Boadu.
Kordzi said: “My target is to win the goal king award this season and am working hard for it in the second round.” Kofi Kordzi told MoTV.
He joined the 21 time Ghana league holders from lower tier side, Royals FC in 2019 in a three year deal.
That season was not a bad journey for a striker nicknamed “Aveyime Drogba” with 14 league appearances culminating in six goals but the league had to be truncated due to COVID-19.
He had a short spell with Qatari club, Al Muaether in 2020 following a his good performance the season prior.
He made a return to the 2000 CAF Champions League winners for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season after the expiration of his contract.
Kordzi must up his game if he must reclaim his spot in the starting eleven as Hearts of Oak open their second round against Legon Cities FC on Sunday, February
