The 2025 edition of the annual Anidaso Easter Gala for the people of Offinso North Constituency in the Ashanti region was both classic and historic.
Unlike last year, when the event was held at the rough Lions Park in Akumadan, this year’s Easter soccer festival took place on the newly constructed Akumadan Lions Astro Turf.
This facility was established by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, as a promise to his constituents.
Addressing the large crowd that gathered for the four-day soccer fiesta, Dr. Asamoah emphasized that this gesture was aimed at accelerating development, progress, and transformation in the area through sports and recreation, particularly football.
He reiterated that the region is rich in football talent and expressed his commitment to harnessing these talents for greater opportunities.

“In the next five years, we aim to produce quality footballers who can compete effectively in both local and international leagues. Our new Astro Turf will also serve as a venue for local and international competitions,” he stated.
A total of fourteen male teams and five female teams, representing five zones—Akumadan, Afrancho, Nkenkensu, Daaso-Nkwaakwa, and Nsenua—competed for honors on the classic, FIFA-standardized Astro Turf, which features floodlights, Video Assistant Referee (VAR), and other amenities that allowed matches to extend into the night.
Akumadan Faith Young Boys and Akumadan Ladies, both from the Akumadan Zone, emerged as winners in the male and female categories, respectively.
They received generous cash prizes, trophies, and medals for their achievements.
