Accra, Ghana – June 12, 2026— Vivo Energy Ghana PLC, the exclusive marketer and distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Ghana, has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusion and community empowerment through a cash donation to the Ghana National Amputee Football Association (GNAFA) as part of its 2026 Sustainability Week celebrations.
The initiative, held under the theme “Kicking Off for Sustainability,” was funded through voluntary contributions from employees, complemented by additional support from the company. With global attention turning toward the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the theme highlights the unifying power of sport as a catalyst for inclusion, resilience, and social transformation.
The donation reflects Vivo Energy Ghana’s broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda and aligns with the global pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), which seeks to ensure equal opportunities and social inclusion for all.

Globally, more than one billion people live with disabilities and continue to face barriers to participation in education, employment, healthcare, sports, and community life. By supporting the Ghana National Amputee Football Association, Vivo Energy Ghana seeks to celebrate these achievements while promoting greater recognition, inclusion, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Shirley Tony Kum, Corporate Communications Manager, described sustainability as a central pillar of the company’s operations and emphasized the importance of empowering communities through inclusive initiatives.
“We are here today as part of our Sustainability Week celebration. Sustainability remains a key focus area of our ESG agenda, and we are proud to support the Ghana National Amputee Football Association. Receiving the donation on behalf of the Association, Mr. Emmanuel Apkabli, Director of Welfare, expressed appreciation to Vivo Energy Ghana for the gesture and commended the company for recognising the achievements of amputee football in Ghana.
“This gesture makes us proud and reminds us that we are also part and parcel of the national sporting family. We promise the nation that we will continue to work hard and bring glory to Ghana,” he said.
Mr. Apkabli noted that support from corporate institutions plays a vital role in strengthening disability sports and promoting a greater sense of belonging and recognition for athletes living with disabilities.
