GJA to Open Book of Condolence for Veteran GBK Owusu

To Mourn the death of veteran journalist, Gilbert Banquo Kwame Owusu, popularly known as GBK Owusu, the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) would open a Book of Condolence in Accra on Wednesday, 30th October, 2019 at the Ghana International Press Freedom Centre (GIPFC) in honour of the late journalist.

In a statement issued by the GJA and signed by its President, Affail Monney expressed its utterly shocked and devastated by the sudden death of Gilbert Banquo Kwame Owusu, popularly known as GBK Owusu.

The veteran journalist was the editor of both Christian Messenger and the Presbyterian newspaper for 34 years before going on retirement in the year 2000.

According to the statement, GBK Owusu reportedly died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

“The death of GBK Owusu is a big loss to the media fraternity in Ghana and the nation as a whole”, a portion of the statement read.
