The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has today 8th April, 2020 donated food items to 300 vulnerable widows through the Mama Zimbi Foundation (NGO) at the forecourt of the Ministry.
The Social Protection Director for the Ministry, Dr. Rita Owusu-Amankwah presented the food items on behalf of the sector Minister, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
According to her, the Ministry is presenting the food items which includes rice, sugar, mackerel, tin tomatoes, tin fish, tubers of yam, onions amongst others on behalf of His Excellency the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to support 300 vulnerable widows and their needy children through her foundation.
Akumaa Mama Zimbi who is the Founder and Executive Director of the foundation expressed her gratitude to Government for the timely intervention and promised to ensure that the 300 vulnerable widows receives the items.
She used the opportunity to appeal to all to stay at home and follow the directives of the President to help curb the Corona Virus pandemic.
