Two Police Officers Rob Burkina Faso National at Gun Point

Two Police Officers of the Ghana Police Service are alleged to have attacked a national of Burkina Faso at gunpoint at Abeka Lapaz, suburb in Accra.

According to police sources, the victim Suleman Sodre was on his way to his hotel, Classic Guest House situated at Lapaz, suburb in Accra after a business transaction with one Alhaji when the incident happened.

Speaking to, the Tesano Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Oduro Amaning explained that, a Ghana Police Service vehicle, with registration number GP 3513 was used by these two Police Odficers to rob the Burkina Faso national.

Interestingly, the Alhaji who transacted buisness with the Burkina Faso national was spotted in the said Police vehicle.

The policemen he said allegedly collected all monies of Suleman Sodre  at gunpoint and drove off leaving the victim helpless.

ACP Oduro Amaning indicated that, his outfit has started investigation after the victim made a formal complain at the Tesano Police station.

Revealing that,  the Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Afful Boakye-Yiadom, had ordered for the immediate arrest of the driver of the said vehicle.

‘Every vehicle belonging to the Service is assigned to a Unit, adding that, the Unit to which the said vehicle was assigned have been identified, with the help of the registration number of the vehicle’, but was quick to say the said two Police Officers are yet to be identified.

Hoping that, the arrest of the driver of the said vehicle would facilitate investigations and ascertain the truth or otherwise of the matter.

Meanwhile, other sources within the Police Service believes  the said Police vehicle used to rob the Burkina Faso national, Suleman Sordes belongs to the Police Intelligence and Professional Standard (PIPS).
