Boys Brigade Ghana to receive 30,000 copies of Holy Bible to equip them for God’s Work

The Boys Brigade, Ghana Council in partnership with the Bible Society of Ghana will distribute over 30,000 copies of the Holy Bible to its 7 regional council across the country, comprising of the Greater Accra, Tema-Volta, Brong Ahafo, Central, Ashanti-North, Western and Eastern Region.
The move forms part of the activities in celebration of the month long Boys Social Awareness month under the theme “Making Our Boys Brigade Relevant to the Needs of the Youth of Ghana in our Age”.
It is for this reason that the Boys Brigade, Ghana Council in conjunction with the Bible Society of Ghana have launched the Boys Brigade (BB) Bible project dubbed, “One Brigadier, One Bible” at the Calvary Methodist Church in Accra under the theme, “Thy Word Have I Kept in My Heart, That I May Not Sin Against Thee. Psalm 119.11”.
Speaking at the launch, the President of Bible Society of Ghana APS. Prof. Opoku Onyinah urged Christians particularly members of the Boys Brigade in their respective churches to fervently read the Bible and practise the word of God to enable them be empowered in their spiritual lives and wellbeing.
According to him, believers must memorize, study and meditate on the Word of God for divine upliftment in their spiritual endeavours as well as being Christ ambassadors for soul winning for the Kingdom of God.
He thus urged the boys in their various churches to have a copy of the Holy Bible as part of their drive to advance themselves towards Christ’s Kingdom.
The National President of the Boys Brigade, Ghana Council, Lawyer Moses Foh-Amoaning urged the boys to have a copy of the Bible and explained however that the Bible is essential in every facet of boys and girls upbringing and also order their steps by giving them divine directions in their life’s endeavour.
“The Bible helps the youth to exhibit obedience, self-respect and demonstrates Christian values and virtues in every field of their spiritual life”, he said, adding that the Boys Brigade’s mandate is to work towards the Kingdom of Christ.
Mr. Foh Amoaning said people’s lives have been transformed through reading and practise of the Word of God hence the boys in their various churches will receive copies of the Bible to become Brigadiers for Christ Jesus.
For her part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Light and Salt Ministries, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee expressed her profound gratitude for the roll out of the Bible project and pointed out that the initiative will bear the needed fruits in the lives of the boys in their respective churches.
The National Vice President of the Boys Brigade, Mr. Danso Apau said the Bible project will equip the boys to serve and work towards the Kingdom of God and said the youth are taught a one hour Bible lesson known as Bible class which forms part of the commitment to spiritually inspire them to greater heights.
In a related development, Ms. Joyce Aryee donated a cash amount of Gh¢ 3,000.00 while Prof. Opoku Onyinah also donated an amount of Gh¢ 2,000.00 to support the Bible project as Kings Church in Gilling in the United Kingdom donated £200 pounds.
