Central Region to become Industrial Hub’ – New Minister

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan has assured that, the Central region would become an industrial hub in Ghana under the administration of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and during her tenure as a regional minister.

Embarking on a working tour in the Gomoa East municipality of the central region, the minister indicated that, the region bounds in great natural and human potentials that if harnessed would make it one of the industrial hubs in the country.

According to her, the flagship One District One Factory (1D1F) program of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) offers great opportunity to harness these resources to the benefit of the people of the central region.

During her tour, she visited three industries at various levels of completion under the 1D1F initiative of the government.

VIRIDE Energy, located at Nkwantanan of Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba is at the initial stage of its construction, with earth works done and initial foundation and structural pillars done.

Estimated to be completed around November 2021 under 1D1F, the company when completed would process used lorry tires to produce oil, diesel and related items for domestic and international use.

The company has already employed several individuals who are currently collecting used tires ahead of completion and production.

The second industry under the 1D1F visited was DEBRIDGE Industries Ltd, which was about 35% complete.

The company when completed would produce tile cement in very large quantity to serve the local and international market.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Tony Kwesi Kwansere, the mother company has been in existence for about nine years, and the move is intended to broaden its horizon under the 1D1F initiative.

The project, which costs millions of dollars is expected to be completed around November 2021 and would provide thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

The minister was full of praise for the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo for the numerous economic opportunities created, such as the Planting for Food and Jobs, 1D1F and the rest.

Whilst assuring the people of the central region and beyond of her selfless and dedicated service, she advised everyone, especially the youth to take advantage of the opportunities and better their lives.
