GPL: Legon Cities to test the mettle of King Faisal

Written by ...

Former Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu is still sitting on jagged edge as his club, Legon Cities keeps underperforming.

The Royals under the watchful eyes of the former Black Stars trainer have not churned out great performances this season despite managing to escape relegation last term.

Legon Cities have been a pale shadow of themselves in the latter part of the first round since starting on a jerky note.

Their first five opening games earned them just five points out of a possible 15 but with a memorable goalless draw against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They have however shown glimpses of glittering – claiming eight points from their last five matches of the season.

That notwithstanding, they mange only 18 points same as West Africa Football Academy from 16 games and sit on the 15 spot.

Legon Cities FC will host King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, February 14 in the final game of the first round.

King Faisal on the other hand started the season on a brighter note, beating the likes of city rivals, Asante Kotoko 3-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

They have however lost a bit of steam, losing four straight games in the last five matches before beating Real Tamale United on the fifth game.

They have collected 26 points from 16 games and sit 3rd on the league log with 8 wins, two draws and six losses on the road.
