Written by ...

Rivalry will be rekindled when 2000 CAF Champions League winners, Hearts of Oak host record Ghana premier League holders, Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 20.

The Phobians trail their arch rivals by 12 points after 16 games apiece with the week seven outstanding clash set to determine whether Kotoko could stretch the lead or Hearts will bridge the points gap.

The Porcupine Warriors sit comfortably atop of the 2021-22 league log with 36 points, six better than second place Bechem United and could extend by nine if the best Hearts on Sunday.

The Phobians on the other hand are 8th with 24 points and need all three to keep the top four chase much alive as the title defence looks quite bleak. Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu spoke about the crunchy encounter.

“We don’t care whoever we are playing with but just that it’s a competition. “We are competing with all the clubs so we correct our mistakes and we work extra hard to play the Kotoko’s match.” Samuel Boadu told StarsTimes.

Asante Kotoko are looking to end their eight season trophy drought with the Phobians breaking the over a decade jinx last season with a triumphant domestic treble.
