Hearts of Oak have not played better in recent times – Prosper Narteh

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum has said that, rival club, Hearts of Oak needed to lift their game due to the Porcupine Warriors’ quality level.

Kotoko were able to hold their guns against Hearts of Oak in their week seven outstanding game in Accra – securing a goalless draw after 90 minutes.

A few, yet clear cut opportunities went abegging from the two sides in both halves who did not sparkle that much in terms of on the field battle.

That not withstanding, Prosper Narteh was of the view that, Kotoko have been better than Hearts of Oak in recent times.

“What I will say is that, because of the way we are playing better, it gave our opponent that information that they have to step up their game.

“I’m sure you will all attest to the fact that they [Hearts] have never played this way before in a game.

“I stand for correction I mean with all due respect to them [Hearts of Oak], I mean I respect Hearts of Oak.” Prosper Narteh Ogum said in a post match press conference.

The game wrapped up the first round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season with Kotoko lying top of the league table with 37 points.

They are 12 points ahead of Hearts of Oak who are in 7th spot and seven better than Bechem United in second place.
