Sulley Muntari has added a lot of bite to Hearts of Oak – Mohammed Alhassan

Captain of Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Alhassan has hailed the inclusion of former Black Stars captain, Sulley Muntari into the Phobian squad.

The second highest Ghana Premier League holders roped in the services of the 2010 UEFA Champions League winner until the end of the season.

The 37-year-old has managed to get some game time under the tutelage of coach Samuel Boadu despite not being match fit.

Muntari made his debut in a 1-0 loss to city rivals, Great Olympics in “Ga mashie” derby of week 16 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

He went on to face Real Tamale United in the final first round game at the Aliu Mahama Stadium as well as the week seven outstanding fixture against rivals, Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Fatawu Mohammed believes the experience of the former Udinese, Inter and AC Milan, Portsmouth midfielder has added a lot to the club’s setup.

“Sulley Muntari’s inclusion has really helped us. He motivates and encourages us always and we also learn a lot from him at training,” Alhassan told OTEC FM. “Muntari has added a lot to the team and he is someone you can rely on” He added

Hearts of Oak’s performance this term has been far from glittering having won the treble last season.

A record of six victories, seven draws and four losses sees them in 7th spot with 25 points same as Karela United after the first round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
