Ghana to Attend African Open Government Conference in Morocco

Accra, Ghana – Ghana is set to participate in the upcoming African Open Government Conference from May 5th to 7th, 2026, in Rabat, Morocco. The diverse delegation, led by Minister of State in charge of Public Sector Reforms and MP for Tempane, Hon. Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, aims to showcase Ghana’s advancements in open government reforms and public service delivery.

The team includes members of the Parliamentary Caucus on the Open Government Partnership (OGP), representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and officials from the OGP Ghana Office at the Public Sector Reform Secretariat.

Under the theme “Towards an Open Africa,” the conference will unite African nations to promote transparency, accountability, citizen participation, and innovation in governance. Ghana’s involvement aims to boost collaboration among government entities, parliament, civil society, and development partners, while sharing best practices across the continent.

Ghana will participate in discussions on anti-corruption efforts, parliamentary transparency, citizen engagement, and digital transformation, demonstrating the country’s dedication to inclusive, transparent, and accountable governance through the Open Government Partnership.
