Accra, Ghana– Residents in several communities across the Greater Accra Region are expected to experience temporary water supply interruptions on Thursday, July 9, as **Ghana Water Ltd** undertakes a 24-hour scheduled maintenance exercise at its Dodowa Booster Station.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the utility said the temporary shutdown would enable its engineering team to carry out planned maintenance works aimed at improving the operational efficiency, reliability and long-term sustainability of the water supply system.
According to the company, water supply or pressure will be affected throughout the maintenance period in communities served by the Dodowa Booster Station.
The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa and adjoining communities.
Ghana Water advised customers in the affected areas to store adequate quantities of water before the maintenance begins and use available supplies judiciously during the interruption.
The company assured customers that its engineers would work to complete the maintenance within the scheduled 24-hour period and restore normal water supply immediately after the exercise.
Management apologised for the inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause and appealed for the public’s patience and cooperation, stressing that the planned maintenance forms part of efforts to improve the reliability and quality of water service delivery.
