SALTPOND, Central Region, September 10, 2026 — Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School will mark its 66th Anniversary Speech and Prize-Giving Day from September 24 to 27, with a focus on preparing students to adapt to rapid changes in technology, education and the world of work.

The four-day celebration, hosted by the 2001-year group of the Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA), will be held under the theme, “Unlearn to Relearn: The Art of Adaptability in a Rapidly Changing World.”

The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, will be Special Guest of Honour at the main Speech and Prize-Giving ceremony on Saturday, September 26.

The anniversary programme will include a street carnival, Health Walk, medical outreach, career guidance and mentorship, the Speech and Prize-Giving ceremony, a 1990s-themed jam, and a Founders’ Day and Thanksgiving Service.

As part of the “Share2Care” medical outreach, MOGA will present medical supplies to the school’s infirmary and the Saltpond Government Hospital.

The career guidance and mentorship session will connect students with old girls from different professional backgrounds to provide insights into career choices, professional development and the changing world of work.

MOGA President, Mrs. Henrietta Opokua Amissah, said the anniversary was an opportunity to prepare students for a future in which continuous learning and adaptability would be essential.

“This year’s theme is particularly relevant because the world our girls are preparing to enter is changing rapidly. We want our girls to leave Mfantsiman not only with knowledge, but with the courage, confidence and adaptability to keep learning, evolving and leading wherever they find themselves,” she said.

Headmistress of Mfantsiman Girls SHS, Mrs. Roseline A. Sowah-Tagoe, said the school was looking forward to welcoming old girls from Ghana and abroad to celebrate the achievements of students and support the institution’s continued development.

She said the alumni’s “continued support, goodwill and commitment” remained important to the growth of the school.

The main ceremony will recognise students for academic excellence and other achievements, while outstanding members of staff will also be honoured.

The celebrations also form part of MOGA’s broader support for the school, including efforts towards the completion of an ultra-modern ICT Library to enhance digital learning, research and innovation.

The anniversary will climax on Sunday, September 27, with a Founders’ Day and Thanksgiving Service, bringing together students, staff, old girls, parents and members of the Mfantsiman community.
