A report from a popular X operator has it that a female member of staff of the University of Ilesa, Osun State, was involved in an unfortunate road accident on Wednesday where the victim reportedly died on the scene.
The victim, according to footage drove a wine-colored Toyota Corolla along the University of Ilesa road where the tragic incident took place.
A truck “overloaded” with goods, belonging to Colossus Investment Limited which is owned and chaired by Honourable Tola Fashiru who happens to be the commissioner for agriculture in the state was said to have fallen as a result of the overload where unfortunately caught the victim.
The first report of the incident was around 4:18 PM on Wednesday, April 3rd, by an X handler @medayese_ who rallied for public help at the scene.
The concerned citizen went on to tweet an hour later berating the failure of the Road Safety Corps to be at the scene as when due.
After a couple of hours where the gathered crowd tried to rescue the said victim, a crane eventually arrived but to the displeasure of onlookers who sent them away as the lifeless body of the victim had already been disentangled at the time of their arrival.
The X handler went on to confirm that the displeasing occurrence was a result of “overloading” on the truck as both the victim and the culprit were still less than ten minutes away from their take-off point.
In shock of the calamitous event, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Osun JCC, has released an official statement through their chairman where justice is being demanded.

“With heavy hearts, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of a beloved member of the University of Ilesa community, who tragically lost her life today, April 3, 2024, at 3:35 pm.
As we mourn the passing of this dedicated mother and esteemed representative of our state, we are compelled to address the alarming circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.
“As a spokesperson for the Institute of Youth, I express profound sorrow and raise awareness about the urgent need for action.
“This unfortunate incident not only impacts one individual but also serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers faced by all members of our community, including students.”
We denounce the prioritization of material possessions over human life and demand justice for the victim and her grieving family.
“It is imperative that swift and decisive action be taken to ensure accountability and provide adequate compensation to the bereaved”.
“In solidarity with those seeking justice, we issue a five-day ultimatum to the Commissioner of Police and the Inspector General of the nation to prioritize this matter and expedite the investigation process.”
“Together, let us stand united in our pursuit of a just and equitable society, where every individual is valued and protected.”
He wrote in conclusion.
