The Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2025 kicked off with a resounding call to action, urging leaders to accelerate Africa’s journey towards integration and shared prosperity.

This year’s theme, “Delivering Africa’s Single Market through Infrastructure, Invest, Connect, Integrate,” highlights the need for collective effort to break down barriers and create a single market.

Delivering the keynote address,Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, digital infrastructure, and gender equality in governance.

As the first female Vice President of Ghana, her leadership ushers in a new chapter of possibilities for the nation.

According to her, “Africa’s fragmented markets are a significant barrier to our economic potential.”

She further stressed that “We must prioritize infrastructure development, invest in digital infrastructure, and work together to break down barriers and create a single market.”

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang also highlighted the need for gender equality in governance, noting that women’s involvement in politics remains limited due to cultural, social, and structural barriers.

Her historic achievement as the first female Vice President of Ghana serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for women across Ghana and the African continent.
