The Anlo Traditional Council and Hogbe Institute, organisers of this year 2019 Hogbetsotso festival, has called on the 36 communities within the Anlo state to use the occasion as a platform to foster unity and cohesion among the locals.
According to the Head of University of Ghana’s Department of Dance Studies, Dr. Sylvanus Kuwor, the festival is anchored on the agenda to assemble cultural heritage bodies to champion development goals of the Anlo state.
The Aim for Hogbe Institute is to create visibility and reconstruction of virtues for community development.
Theme for this year’s festival is uniting Anglo through its values the benefits and uprights.
Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the festival, Dr. Kuwor revealed that, the Royal King of the Asanteman kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will grace the occasion as a special guest to revamp on the cordial relationship between the two states.
“The invitation to the Asantehene is aimed at fostering a bond of unity between the Anlo state and Asante kingdom”.
The 2019 Hogbetsotso festival is slated for Saturday, 2 November 2019 at Hogbe Park, Anloga, Volta Region and will be observed by 36 communities within Anlo.
Queen mother of Srogbe Mama Biana Dadzie encouraged all and sundry, sons and daughters of Anlo land and all Ghanaians to part take in the festival.
“Lets us use Hogbetsotsoza festival as a tool for uniting indigenous of Anlo” Mama emphasized.
