To support the rebuilding and rehabilitation of the Appiatse community, two companies namely GACEM Cement and Sandvik Mining and Construction Companies have made donation to the Appiatse Committee on Monday, 28th February, 2022 in Accra.
Taking their turn to present their donation, the Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Mr. Benny Fiifi Ashun who made the presentation on behalf of the company presented a letter for 1,700 bags of cement which amounts to 85,000 Ghana Cedis as their donation to support the fund.
Speaking after the donation, Mr. Benny Fiifi Ashun indicated that, “GACEM Foundation has been in the business of supporting the construction of schools and hospitals with bags of cement all over the country”.

“And it is not out of place to donate two trucks of cement for rebuilding of the Apiate community which will definitely have schools and hospitals, he added.
He further said, “Per our line of duty as the foundation, we feel compelled to also send in this donation”
He used the occasion to announce that The Gacem Foundation is always ready to support any project which seeks to build schools or hospitals with a good number of cement bags on request through applications.S
Presenting their donation, the Business Mine Manager,Mr. Daniel Korsah explained that, donating towards the rebuilding and rehabilitation of the Appiatse community is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility and as a responsible partner to Ghana Chamber of Mines, his firm see it as a duty to give their quota.

He therefore presented presented a cheque of 65,000 Ghana Cedis as their bit to help build Apiate into a Green, sustainable and model community.
Receiving the two donations, the Chairperson of the Appiatse Support Fund Committee, Rev. Dr. Joyce Roselind Aryee thanked GACEM and Sandvik Mining and Construction Company for their generous contribution towards rebuilding and rehabilitation of Appiatse community.
She therefore promised to ensure that the reconstruction committee who will be the actual users of the cement are put in the know of their donation.
Rev. Dr. Joyce Roselind Aryee expressed her profound gratitude and was impressed of how the country is responding to the Appiate disaster.
However, she called on individuals and corporate institutions to continue donating to the Fund to enable the people of Appiate to have normal lives again.
