The New Patrotic Party (NPP) newly elected Parliamentary Candidate for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom Constituency (BNAC) Sylvester Tetteh has emphatically stated that, he would ensure the youth of the Constituency gets the needed skills and capacity building as well support to be self independent and self sufficient.
Indicating that, “Youth are the pivot of societal development, therefore, I have them in mind and so there would be the need for creation of skills training and talent development centre to educate them; this will enable me to create a foundation called Sylvester Foundation”.
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA) made these statements at the party just ended parliamentary elections across the country on 21st June, 2020.
After delegates casting their votes, the NYA boss emerged the winner over four other contenders namely George Addo Osei-Waree, Mad. Gifty Mensah, Fredrick Abban as well as the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Constiteuncy, Alhaji Saad Habib.
In an exclusive interview with the New Independent online news portal, www.thenewindependentonline.com, the PC elect for BNAC, Mr. Slyvester Tetteh disclosed that, his vision is to help build a strong front for the party in the constituency hence create the need for advocacy.
Furthermore, education he noted would be key on his agenda believing that, education is one core mandate to improve on the needs and wants of the Constituents.
Mr. Tetteh therefore used his win to assure the people of Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom Constituency (BNAC) that, he would be a proactive Member of Parliament to attract attention on the floor of Parliament.
This he believes would reap in developmental projects that would enhance the development and wellbeing of the Constituents.
Mr. Slyvester Tetteh who won massively with 317 votes casted by 540 delegates over the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP); who had 178 votes casted noted that he has started intensive campaign for the NPP in the constituency to retain the seat.
“I will see to the improvement of water and drainage systems in the communities; as well as to create motorable roads, since the constituency is developing as a new urban area” Mr. Tetteh indicated.
With regards to the coastal towns in the constituency, he indicated that there is the need for improved education for fisher folks as well been recognized for their contribution to development of the constituency and the country at large.
The NYA boss however lamented over a mining activity in the constituency, which results in the constant floor of the main Mallam-Weija- Kasoa stretch of road whenever there is heavy down pour,this he said impedes free flow of traffic on the stretch.
The Parliamentary aCandidate Elect hinted that when he is voted into parliament come December 7, 2020; he would liaise with the Minister of Education to transform the Two-Day Senior High Schools in the constituency into a boarding house facility.
As well hinted that, he would create a teacher motivation fund which would enable teachers in the Constituency to have access to learning materials such as laptops to enhance teaching.
