Ghana defender, Jonathan Mensah is calling for unity among teammates and Ghanaians as a whole after the defeat to Morocco.
The Black Stars suffered a slim 1-0 loss against Morocco in the Group C AFCON opener at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Monday. Ghana, who are chasing a first title in 40-years went down late in the game from Soufiane Boufal’s 82nd minute strike.
The Columbus Crew Captain who did not play a part in that defeat, believes this is the moment “to stick together regardless of what happens.”

“Our mood is fine [in camp] even though we lost the game but we know we still got two more games left. “So we just need to go and recover and then we go again,” Jonathan Mensah told the press. “We are disappointed but we held our head high, we go prepare again and we go for the second game. “We need to stick together, regardless of what happens we need to stick together and we can bounce back.” Jonathan Mensah told the press.

Ghana must beat Gabon in the second game to stand any chance of qualifying for the next stage of the tournament in Cameroon. Gabon on the other hand defeated debutants, Comoros 1-0 in their opener at the same venue on Monday.
