The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. James Oppong- Boanuh as the Chairman of the National Election Security Task Force (NESTF) has assured the general public of appropriate security measures to avoid any post-elections violence across the country.
According to him, the Task Force has put in place strong, effective and efficient measures to ensure maximum security in this post-election period.
The Inspector of Police (IGP) Mr. James Oppong- Boanuh made these pronouncement at a press briefing in Accra (10th December 2020) at the National Police Headquarters, flanked by the Chief of Defence Staff, Security Heads and Operational Commanders.
He however cautioned the public to desist from any acts that will incite trouble.
Adding that, “Investigations are ongoing with regards to incidents recorded during elections and the outcomes of our investigations will be made available to the public”.
