The leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Christian Kwabena Andrews has issued a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to break away from the decades-long dominance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a fiery speech, the GUM leader described the two major political parties as “enemies to the future of Ghana,” accusing them of failing to deliver meaningful progress despite decades of governance.

According to the GUM leader, the current state of the country underscores the urgent need for a complete overhaul of the governance system.

“Civil servants have no future, and their lives are in a mess,” he lamented, citing the inability of many Ghanaians to afford basic necessities like electricity and food. He warned that if citizens continue voting for NDC and NPP, the country would only slide further into despair.

Vote Buying and Ghana’s Future

The GUM leader also criticized the pervasive culture of vote buying, labeling it as a betrayal of the country’s future.

He cautioned voters against accepting money, T-shirts, and other gifts from politicians in exchange for their votes.

“When you sell your vote, you are signing a contract with these parties that mortgages your future,” he said. He argued that the electorate must prioritize Ghana’s long-term development over short-term personal gains.

A Call for Change

The leader appealed to Ghanaians to vote for GUM as the solution to the country’s challenges.

He emphasized that both the NDC and NPP have had ample opportunity to transform Ghana but have instead left the nation retrogressing.

“They are not thinking about Ghana’s future. They are our enemies, yet we claim to love them. It’s our future we are gambling with,” he warned.

Divine Warnings for Election Day Misconduct

The GUM leader also issued stern spiritual warnings against electoral malpractice.

He pronounced seven “curses” on those who might attempt to manipulate the election process, including stealing ballot boxes, voting multiple times, or falsifying results.

Among the curses were death, blindness, strokes, and even rotting flesh for those who engage in such acts.

He extended this warning to Electoral Commission officials, politicians, and security personnel who might enable electoral fraud, urging them to uphold integrity during the elections.

A Vision for Ghana

Concluding his speech, the GUM leader underscored his party’s commitment to charting a new path for Ghana.

He called on Ghanaians to reject the status quo and embrace the movement for real change.

“GUM is the solution,” he declared, urging voters to choose a future free from the failures of the past.

As Ghana approaches another election season, this message challenges the electorate to rethink their voting patterns and prioritize national progress over party loyalty.
