Deputy captain of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Alhassan has revealed the pangs of pain associated with their slim defeat to city rivals, Great Olympics.
The Phobians were pegged back by Abdul Razak Yusif’s 30th minute fine finish at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.
The derby defeat is the 21 time champions’ fourth defeat of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
Mohammed Alhassan said: “They [Great Olympics] had their chance and they took it and we had ours and it didn’t go our way.
“So, we go back to the drawing board, the mistakes we did then we correct and focus on the next match,” Mohammed Alhassan said.
“[Defeat] not good at all but it’s part of the game because in the game of football it’s three things, you win, you draw or you lose.
“We had one which is a loss and it wasn’t something we are happy about. “Everyone is down but it’s never over yet.
“When you look at the team right now, we are at our peak but not at our best. “So we go back, do our correction and focus on our next game.” Mohammed Alhassan said.
Hearts of Oak have won six games, drawn five and lost four times in the process of collecting 23 points from 15 games.
They have to clear a week seven outstanding fixture against arch rivals, Asante Kotoko on February 20.
Hearts of Oak next travel up North as guests of premier league returnees, Real Tamale United on Sunday, February 13 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
